What is Battlegrounds in Marvel Contest of Champions?
Battlegrounds is a skill-based, PvP mode where Summoners compete using a curated deck of champions. Unlike traditional game modes, Battlegrounds requires real-time decision-making, strategic champion selection, and smart attack-defense planning. The format follows a best-of-three system, where the first player to win two rounds emerges victorious.
Each season of Battlegrounds lasts four weeks, followed by a one-week break before the next season begins. Players must climb through different divisions and tiers, earning rewards as they progress.
MCoC Battlegrounds Eligible Criteria
A Summoner needs to have completed Act 5, Chapter 2, Quest 6 (Act 5.2.6), and obtained the "Uncollected Title" in order to take part and open the game mode.
How MCOC Battlegrounds Works
1. Entering a Battleground Match
- Check out the nodes that are active now.
- To enter a match, players must spend 15 Energy or 90 Elder’s Marks. Once entered, the system pairs Summoners with opponents of similar skill levels.
2. Drafting Champions
- Players create a 30-champion deck before the match.
- Before battle, both Summoners ban three champions from their opponent’s deck.
- Players then take turns selecting seven champions for battle. (For Attack and Defense)
3. Assigning Attackers and Defenders
- Each round, both players choose one champion as a defender and one as an attacker.
- The goal is to either defeat the defender faster or score more points through performance.
4. Scoring System
- Fight Duration: Faster victories earn more points.
- Remaining Health: The more health retained, the higher the score.
- Damage Taken: Less damage taken results in higher points.
- Successful Hits: Clean fights with fewer mistakes earn better scores.
